Mending Wall

Another school era classic....makes so much sense now :) I esp love the lines that are in bold...

Something there is that doesn't love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun,
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
The work of hunters is another thing:
I have come after them and made repair
Where they have left not one stone on a stone,
But they would have the rabbit out of hiding,
To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean,
No one has seen them made or heard them made,
But at spring mending-time we find them there.
I let my neighbor know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go.
To each the boulders that have fallen to each.
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance:
'Stay where you are until our backs are turned!'
We wear our fingers rough with handling them.
Oh, just another kind of out-door game,
One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, 'Good fences make good neighbors'.
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
'Why do they make good neighbors? Isn't it
Where there are cows?
But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offence.
Something there is that doesn't love a wall,

That wants it down.' I could say 'Elves' to him,
But it's not elves exactly, and I'd rather
He said it for himself. I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me~
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father's saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, "Good fences make good neighbors."

Bid Adieu

Found the composition of the Bid Adieu email that I sent in SAP LABS on 4th Jan 2010 :)

Winds of change have touched my soul,
A sense of delight, encouraging above all

It is time for a big leap, doing something on my own,
Peregrinating towards the light the tunnel has shown

Embarking upon a new life, some new goals to set,
I walk out of SAP LABS, leaving my prodigious aide

Contemplating the activities that I have wrought for ,
All my senses together express the heartfelt grace for

Team outbound stated: it is less of me and more of we,
All the parties and pictures mimic the glee

I  thank my dear friends, with whom I have had the best stint,
I value their unique misfortune of dealing with me without giving any hint

Little I knew, but now I feel the pain,
These golden days @ SAP LABS, I wish to spend again

I wish the best in person and profession for you in every bit,
And look forward for our continued concord beyond ambit

Here is wishing you warmth and happy dreams,
May this year be one where hope always gleams

May you find unending and fulfilling love,
May you travel places you have never been before

May tremendous luck be bestowed from above,
May you find time for all things you adore.

My heart stops me here, whispers things a few,
There is a whole new life waiting to be lived, before I bid adieu

Do I care?

How often do I argue with my blood relation?

From hornet’s nest or by bringing my own aggression

How often do I care how much have I hurt?

When I speak in tongues or in ever increasing spurt

What will I do when I lose my nigh ones all of a sudden?

Sitting far away with my project work undone

Should I mourn over the loss for the rest of my existence?

Or should I pity myself for wrangling during their continuance?

I realize life is too short to hate them in person

Coz they stood in my despair and adulation

They won’t take anything in good heaven or even list

But would leave their fond memories of their life’s gist

I wish to stay awake and see them sleeping during nights

To make sure that I am always there as their wrights

I feel they need me more than I need them now

I might be scared of saying “you never know”

I apologize to all whom I have afflicted

I believe God is watching and I would be treated

I take another step to do well and be fair

Keeping aside my egos and reflecting the glare

Of Speedbreakers and Potholes

I drive through the silent darkness, all alone,
If I don't see you on time, I am sure to break my bone!!!
Only God would know what was in the mind of your maker,
Above all, you are the mighty speed breaker!!!!!

Unmoving on the road, you lie in slumber,
At least ten on each road, the number of dogs you outnumber,
Instead of warning us to be careful and slowly tread,
You keep a sign telling us, "Careful!!! Bump Ahead"

Let me talk about your sibling, the pothole,
It seems you are an indispensable part of road's soul,
Whenever the rain comes, I hear you cheer,
Bcoz in myriad numbers now you can reappear

I want to ask you two, "Why do you exist at all?"
Slowing the traffic which is already a crawl,
Only bike guys with girlfriends would really love you,
They brake sharply and come little closer too :)

The song of Arihantism

Warning to the readers - Would sound Self- bragging but you would adapt to this change soon :P

What is wrong with this world, so sad, angry and blue,
On Reliance Customer care, why it is so tough to get through?
Watching Reality shows is such a bad dream,
Do I really need to buy the men's fairness cream?

I have looked everywhere for the meaning of it all,
Watched how many movies, I can't even recall,
I am trapped it seems, life would soon write me an obituary,
Even worse, Sachin is not getting a century

But don't you folks worry, a new religion is here,
Embrace Arihantism, it will drive away all fear,
It's great, ticket to heaven is not conditional,
Taking a bath everyday is also optional

P.S. Credit goes to the Aditya Kulkarni for bringing this up at first place

An Ode to dear cow

O my dear Cow!!! how mighty you are,
Ruling the planet like a powerful czar,
You made your kingdom in the city of Bangalore,
We beg for your help, we can't take it anymore.

Majestically, you sit in the middle of the road,
Jamming traffic, disrupting your heavenly abode,
Bravely, here I come with a suggestion for you,
All those pedestrians, please haunt them too.

Just look how much traffic has grown,
The footpath should be now your ultimate throne,
We're here to pray, please spare us your wrath,
Go and terrorize people on the footpath.

P.S. Inspired from travel within Bangalore city markets and highly congested areas

Hum Aa Gaye

Aap ke dil ne humein awaaz di, hum aa gaye,
Humko le aayi mohabbat aapki, hum aa gaye.

Apne aane ka bahaana hum kya bataye aapko,
Baithe baithe yaad aayi aapki, hum aa gaye.

Hum hai dilwale bhala hum par kisi ka zor kya,
Jayenge apni khushi, apni khushi, hum aa gaye.

Hairaan Pareshaan Chintu

Pareshaan thi Chintu ki wife

Non-happening thi jo uski life

Chintu ko na milta tha aaram

Office main karta kaam hi kaam

Chintu ke boss bhi the bade cool

Promotion ko har baar jate the bhul

Par bhulte nahi the wo deadline

Kaam to karwate the roz till nine

Chintu bhi banna chata tha best

Isliye to wo nahi karta tha rest

Aur chod di usne Onsite ki moh maya

Boss se bola, "Tum kyon satate ho?"

"Onsite ke laddu se buddhu banate ho"

"Promotion do warna chala jaunga"

"Onsite dene par bhi wapis na aunga"

Boss haans ke bola "Nahi koi baat"

"Abhi aur bhi Chintus hai mere paas"

"Yeh duniya Chintuon se bhari hai"

"Sabko bas aage badhne ki padi hai"

"Tum na karoge to kisi aur se karunga"

"Tumhari tarah Ek aur Chintu banaunga"
